About New year's playing game
I want to introduce about three Japanese New year's playing games.
First,This game is called “Hanetsuki” in Japanese and its game's roots are in China. This game rooted in Muromach Period{About 600 years ago}.
If we play this game, we will not be affected by a disease in this year. The way of this game is look like playing badminton.
Second, Japanese kite. It will always write Kanji. This kite's kanji means Kite.
In Heian Period{About 1300 years ago}, Japanese aristocrat used it to play. But Sengoku period{About 500 yeas ago}, it was used for war. In Edo Period, many children used it to play.
Now we always play it on new years’ day.
Third, kendama. In Emperor Taisho, This game rooted while children and it's been very popular.
